Ravenwoods Farm

Last Saturday Jimmy and I packed up our 3 kids and took a drive up north towards Covington, WA. Which I have to say is one of my absolute favorite areas out here in western Washington. You feel so secluded and it’s so peaceful, all the while being only a 45 minute car ride away from a major metropolitan area. Hello Seattle! Did I mention I absolutely LOVE living out here?! I had been following Andrea on Instagram for quite sometime and had always wanted to see Ravenwoods Farm. So you can imagine my delight when she asked us to come up for a tour!

The farm is tucked away in the pretty little town of Revensdale, WA just outside of Maple Valley. It’s a little slice of paradise hidden away amoungst mature pine trees. The perfect place to escape busy city life and to marry your best friend. Or in my case, to play with furry baby animals! More on that later though 😉

When we arrived Andrea was right there to greet us and show us around. I’m a total sucker for barns so that was our first stop! Andrea and her husband Spencer are very close to finishing construction on this beauty, which will be available for weddings of up to 50 guests in 2021!  When we stepped inside I could immediately picture how stunning it will be when it is finished. White shiplap walls will be going up soon, which will make the already spacious room feel that much more open. There is a stunning glass garage door that floods the space with so much natural light, as a photographer I absolutely appreciate! Not only is this an amazing feature from a lighting standpoint but also perfect for having weddings in the pacific northwest. On rainy days the door can be closed while still allowing the stunning view of nature BUT also can be opened during those warm summer evenings, allowing the cool breeze in off of nearby Lake Retreat. There will also be a bridal suite in the upstairs area of the barn that will be the picture perfect spot to get ready before the ceremony.

Getting married in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony and then following it up with your reception in this amazing white barn is a dream come true for so many brides! Until the barn is complete the reception can be held on the sprawling back lawn.

This venue is the perfect mix of rustic elegance and nature. You have the option to have white wooden folding chairs set up or you may use the log bench seating in the wooded ceremony space. I can see endless possibilities for couple’s to make their wedding day uniquely them at this gorgeous venue and I look forward to being able to photograph weddings there soon!

I have to add in here really quick that Andrea also has the cutest little garden! Honestly I’m completely jealous! It’s one of the cutest gardens I think I have ever seen and she has lovingly added so many adorable touches. I could just spend all day in there.

Along with being the wedding venue that dreams are made of, Ravenwoods Farm is also the perfect place for photos of your little ones! Andrea has accrued some of the most magical photo props. My favorite has to be the swing that she made using an old log loop for firewood. I love how creative she is and her attention to detail through out the entire property. Look at that little boho tent too! Oh my gosh, I just need to bribe my girls to let me dress them up again so I can take photos if them there.

Just when you think this place couldn’t get any cuter, it does. There are animals you guys! Goats, bunnies, baby lambs, chickens and a turkey. This was definitely a treat for the kids! They got to feed the baby bunnies and pet the baby sheep. Which if you get a chance to pet baby sheep and hold baby bunnies you just need to do it! It makes everything better, in my opinion!

I also just completely adore their home. The architecture is breath taking and I can’t imagine there being a more cozy place to spend a rainy summer evening than on the porch swing. Also if you happen to be close to Ravensdale you can get organic local eggs from here too! Ravenwoods Farm has to be one of my favorite places I’ve toured so far. Amazing owners, breathtaking scenery and baby animals! What’s not to love?!

If you want to get in contact with them for your upcoming wedding or if you’re a photographer looking for the perfect spot for family mini’s definetly get ahold of Andrea through their website:
