Kelley Farm – Bonney Lake, WA
It’s FRIDAY!!! You know what that means…. time for Feature Friday!!! I set out on this blog mission of mine with the goal to tour and photograph venues close to our home that I feel our couples would really connect with. Since every couple has a unique vision for their wedding I wanted to do my best to provide a variety of venues that we can not only recommend but show pictures of them as blank canvases, so to speak. It’s a bit easier to envision your own wedding seeing the spaces as they are, without someone else’s wedding decor. Your imagination can run wild and you can really begin to picture your own day there. We’ve featured a historic farmhouse, a Victorian home, a modern barn in the woods, an outdoor fairytale haven and now a rustic barn venue from the late 1800’s! Our next two features that will round out the venue portion of the blog include a manor with a spectacular view of Mt. Rainier and a 1920’s villa set overlooking Gravelly Lake. I also want to add here that if you book your wedding with one of our Feature Friday venues you will get an exciting little surprise from Jimmy and I! I will keep you in suspense for now though 😉 …. just until I wrap up our venue “tour” on here in the next couple weeks! And with that it is onto our next FEATURE, Kelley Farm! This historic farm turned wedding venue is the perfect blend of rustic, elegance and nature. Located in the heart of Bonney Lake the farm is tucked away a few blocks over from Target. It’s on an amazing property that is filled with so much local history. If you’re a history lover like I am you’ll want to head over to the “History” section of Kelley Farm’s website. It’s been a dairy farm, brewery, working farm and now a wedding venue! You’ll see hints of it’s past throughout the property. The Corliss family has done such a wonderful job preserving this amazing bit of local heritage. Chantel is the coorinator for the venue and she’s just the sweetest! We bonded over our equal love for Tom’s shoes and I really enjoyed being able to spend some time with her touring the grounds of the property. We started off in the barn and then made our way out to the patio/dance area. All of the side doors to the barn open up onto the large patio which is adorned with the ever popular café’ lights. Ton’s of room to get your grove on here and the perfect setting for some epic nighttime portraits! The barn itself is so large that they’re easily able to accommodate receptions with proper social distancing requirements. Look at all that space! The open garden area next to the barn is the perfect spot to hold a ceremony. The arbor is movable and there is plenty of space for a large group, or even space to properly socially distance during times like now. Up next we headed over to the Groom’s Quarters. It’s a rustic little building with plenty of getting ready space, a large mirror and a large deck that overlooks the ceremony space and sprawling farm beyond. Definitely the space the boys will want to hang out at while the girls are getting ready in the bridal cottage. The bridal cottage has been beautifully updated and decorated with soft muted colors. My favorite feature has to be the stunning deep blue vintage couch. Boasting a full kitchen, bathroom, large living room with plenty of seating for everyone, 2 large mirrors, two separate getting ready rooms and a covered porch complete with white rocking chairs. This cottage is the perfect place to relax and get ready to walk down the isle. You have all the amenities of an upscale hotel, right on the property! This venue is perfect for those larger weddings but it is also just as perfect for smaller ones. The property has such a romantic feel to it that it’s really able to accommodate it all.
